The Cons:Unable to use as a massive storage server due to limited capacity.

The PowerEdge 1950 III features a 2 socket 1U sized body rack, that Dell claims provides excellent performance for users of "high performance computing clusters (HPCC), SAN front-end, web and infrastructure applications, especially where data center real estate is at a premium".

Additional PowerEdge 1950 III features include VMware ESXi 3.5 support for virtual machine integration, low overall total energy consumption, Intel Xeon 64-bit quad and dual core processor compatibility, and internal USB port and optional internal DVD optical drive support. It is also important to note that the PowerEdge 1950 III model server comes in three different versions both in function and price; for complete differences see "models" section below.
